Telephone calls are very expensive - over $5US per minute to call the vessel, and $2 per minute to call out from the vessel Where you will meet the S/V Southern Cross: In Rarotonga visit us at the main Harbour At the Gambier Islands (French Polynesia), when on your way to Pitcairn, you will need to take the local ferry boat (from the airport) across the lagoon to the main wharf at Rikitea Village (Mangareva Island) At Pitcairn we will be anchored in the lee of the island At Samoa we will be at the Apia Marina (near Aggie Grey's Hotel) At Tahiti we will be tied to a floating dock opposite the Main Post Office in downtown Papeete Connecting between plane and boat: The S/V Southern Cross departure/arrival times (in Rarotonga and Samoa) are planned so that passengers can use the once-a-week Air New Zealand flights direct to/from Los Angeles. Passengers have sufficient time to travel by bus (or taxi) between the airports (in Rarotonga and Samoa) to the main harbours (where they meet the S/V Southern Cross). Please be at the S/V Southern Cross by 10am, as we need to process everyone's passports before departure in the afternoon. |
