Telephone calls are very expensive - over $5US per minute to call the vessel, and $2 per minute to call out from the vessel Where to meet the SRV Discovery: In Rarotonga visit us at the main Harbour At the Gambier Islands (French Polynesia), when on your way to Pitcairn, you will need to take the local ferry boat (from the airport) across the lagoon to the main wharf at Rikitea Village (Mangareva Island) At Pitcairn we will be anchored in the lee of the island At Samoa we will be at the Apia Marina (near Aggie Grey's Hotel) At Tahiti we will be tied to a floating dock opposite the Main Post Office in downtown Papeete Connecting between plane and boat: The SRV Discovery's departure time from Rarotonga is planned so that passengers can use the once-a-week Air New Zealand flight direct from Los Angeles. Passengers have sufficient time to travel by bus (or taxi) between the airport to the main harbour (where they meet the SRV Discovery). Please be at the Discovery by 10am, as we need to process everyone's passports before departure in the afternoon. |
