Booking a passage to Pitcairn on R/V Bounty Bay

How to book your passage:
1) Please email us your booking request - or phone us - with the name of the passenger and the desired voyage date (email info@pacific-expeditions.com - tel/fax: +682-21999 or mobile +682-52400).
2) To secure you place you will need to pay half of your fare (the deposit) by emailing, telephoning, or faxing your credit card details - you can also pay by bank transfer. (Note: if you pay the full fare you can claim a 50% refund if you cancel more than three months before departure).
3) Please book your international flights to Tahiti, and your French Polynesian domestic flights from Tahiti to Mangareva (in the Gambier Islands). The domestic airline (Air Tahiti) starts taking bookings roughly six months before your flight date. They fly the big four engined ATR72 to Mangareva, and will have plenty of seats if you book 3 to 6 months in advance.
4) Our passengers do not need to apply for landing permits to the Pitcairn Administration (in Auckland) - As under the new immigration regulations charter vessel operators (like us) have been requested to submit passenger lists one month in advance - hence we need:
Passenger name, Nationality & Date of birth
Passport number & Expiry date
Travel insurance name, number and expiry date
Note: Travel Insurance must have a provision for medical evacuation.
Please notify us of these details at least one month before we depart and we will arrange for your landing permit at Pitcairn and your accommodation with local families on Pitcairn.

Notes:
You will need to book your domestic Air Tahiti flight (flight number VT 951) from Tahiti (code: PPT) to the Gambier Islands (code: GMR) with your local travel agency. Tell your travel agent that these flights can be booked by using the usual booking systems for airline tickets. These flights are a once-a-week service and depart from Tahiti at approximately 6am on Tuesday mornings. They returns the same day to Tahiti, arriving at 3pm.

Not included are:
a) Your international airfares to Tahiti, plus your domestic flight from Tahiti to Mangareva (Gambier Islands) with Air Tahiti.
b) Your taxi boat fare (about US$6 in local currency) on the Air Tahiti ferry that takes you from the airport in the Gambier Islands across the lagoon to Rikitea village on the main island of Mangareva - where you will join the Bounty Bay.
c) You accommodation and other expenses while on Pitcairn Island. Full-board with local families on Pitcairn is US$70 per person per night - which should be paid directly to your hosts.
d) Travel insurance - this is compulsory and must include provision for medical evacuation.
e) Beer can be purchased onboard the Bounty Bay. You are welcome to bring your own food and alcohol without additional charge. Meals, Coffee, and Tea etc are free of charge.
