Testimonials
Small boat voyages to remote islands seem to provoke strong human feelings. Our passenger’s reactions, both good and bad, often remind us of the emotional ups and downs that Fletcher Christian and Capt Bligh must have felt on their fateful voyage - - - some feedback from our customers - - - ********************************************************** S/V Southern Cross voyages (after June 2009) “Now we are back on dry land, I just wanted to let you know what a fantastic time Matt and I had on the Southern Cross. It truly was an adventure we will always remember and I was very sad indeed when the time came to disembark in Tuvalu" "Please can you send our thanks to Paul, Chrissie and Craig for their hard work and dedication, and while we are all aware there were some teething problems during the voyage, I thought it was important to let you know that these in no way impacted on our huge enjoyment of the expedition! It's all part of the adventure frankly!” Vicky (London, UK) - July 2009 Phoenix Eclipse Expedition ********************************************************** “About a month ago I went on the Phoenix trip with Paul and the Southern Cross. Well, I had a blast and I just wanted to let you know. Despite (or better: because) of all the things that happened, like the broken compressor, water shortage, etc, the trip was amazing, and I loved most of it - not the parts where I was sea sick though ;-)” Jens (Seattle, USA) - July 2009 Phoenix Eclipse Expedition **********************************************************

********************************************************** R/V Bounty Bay voyages (2003 - 2009) “I don’t know if you remember me, it was a long time ago now! I came with you to Takutea in 2005 – I knew the crazy girl Merry! I just stumbled across your website after telling a friend of mine about the trip today, and telling her it was the best thing I’ve ever done! It really was, and there is not a week that goes past when I don’t think about it or tell someone about it, brilliant!” Chrissi (Auckland, NZ) - Takutea voyage 2005 ********************************************************** “I would really like to thank you for the opportunity to sail on the Bounty Bay. Your crew was great! They were very accommodating and instrumental in getting my fish. Our lab is always trying to get to remote locations to collect samples for genetic analysis but usually we are restricted to places with land based marine labs" "During this trip I was able to fill some of the void in our collections from the central Pacific and the specimens will be of great use in my dissertation research and in other projects in my lab. So thank you. I will be sure to send you a copy of the publication that results from the snapper collections" "In the future if you find yourself with empty berths please think of me. I would love to sail with you again” Michelle (Univ. of Hawaii) - August 2008 Samoa to Tuvalu Expedition **********************************************************

********************************************************** “We enjoyed our trip on the Bounty Bay so very much!! We have told so many people about it already and have so many more to tell! Thank you for the incredible opportunity to travel to such isolated islands and have so many wonderful and enriching experiences in such a sort amount of time. This was truly a once in a lifetime trip and we both are very appreciative to you and Jonah and Daniel for making it possible and fun!” “One of my favorite experiences of the trip was going to Nassau and meeting the friendly and excited people living there. I have never felt so appreciated, as the people were so excited to have us visit. Their generosity and warmth will never be forgotten. (I had read that Pukapukan women were beautiful ----- but those men on Nassau were the most handsome group of men I ever saw!!!! The "tour guide" made sure I would not slip on the reef getting into the boat to return to the Bounty Bay and had my arm. I am usually very independent, but I enjoyed that extra care he gave me. And, yes, I know it is because of my age! I still enjoyed it!” “Another very, very special place for me is Suwarrow. It was romantic, beautiful, had great diving and snorkeling. John and his family were so friendly and Dan and I enjoyed the short time we tutored the boys. Did you know that I saw the "Green Flash" the night John's family was aboard? I have heard so much about it and have done lots of sailing, but that was the only time I saw it!! The manta rays were a very special thrill, also! Oh, yes, I also enjoyed the camping on East Island and seeing the whirlpool” “Dan and I loved all the diving, but most of all we loved the experience of seeing the culture, people and islands that are so isolated from all the conveniences of our world. The people do so much with what they have and have a richness of their own with close family, beautiful islands, and their own rhythm of life” “I just remembered another two very important experiences, the church service at Pukapuka, which had the most beautiful singing I ever heard -- truly voices out of this world!!, and daily life on the Bounty Bay. It was so fun to meet so many people from all over and have a close association with them on the boat. You made the trip great with your easy way, not letting anything bother you, and everyone just plainly got along very well, especially noting the diversity of us all” “I guess you can see that I thought this trip was not only well worth the expense and some slight hardships, but that our lives have been really enriched by this experience. Thank you so very much!!!!! (We love Jonah and Daniel!!!!! - as well as you!)” Jan & Dan (California) - 2007 Suwarrow National Park Expedition, Cook Islands **********************************************************

********************************************************** “Back in the office and nearly over my jet lag I wanted to send you a quick note to say thank you. You really went out of your way to help us out and make things easy for us. It is much appreciated" "Thank you very much, and please also thank your crew! We’re halfway through the edit, and it’s all shaping up nicely. Hope that you will like the outcome!” Kristine (London, UK) - Takutea film crew (Oct 2008) ********************************************************** “I just wanted to say thanks for a great voyage to and from Pitcairn Island, and thanks again for accommodating my transfer request before the trip. You may have heard that my stomach never really acclimated itself to sea travel, but that's no one's fault but my own" "I found the Bounty Bay to be a very well-equipped and sea-worthy vessel. Capt John, Ross the Engineer, Kate , and Jonah all did an exceptional job. They were professional, courteous, good cooks, and took care of everyone constantly" "I found everything about my trip to be exactly as advertised on your website, and I would gladly recommend Pacific Expeditions to anyone considering a trip to Pitcairn!" "I wish you and your crew best of luck and good weather on all your future voyages!” Michael (Texas, USA) - 2007 Pitcairn Expedition ********************************************************** “I've just returned to the U.S. after a very pleasant voyage on the "Bounty Bay". Sorry we were unable to meet but I'm told there is a new addition to your family so congratulations are in order" "As you're no doubt aware the weather on the trip was exceptionally good and as things turn out I'm glad to have wound up with the dates I did" "Thanks for providing me with the opportunity to visit Pitcairn as well as the bonuses of Henderson and Oeno” Bob (USA) - 2007 Pitcairn Expedition **********************************************************

********************************************************** “Still living with the great memories of "THAT" journey. My photos came out well, and bring back fond memories. Hope to hear from you soon” Irena (Sydney, Australia) - 2008 Pitcairn Expedition ********************************************************** “I want to thank you very much also for the great experience on the Bounty Bay to Pitcairn. The crew, all of them, Capt. Hamish, Maddy, Graham (with his effort in explaining all matters in Spanish!), and also Taryn ...were kind, nice and friendly with all of us. They do their best in order to help us in any assistance!" "I will try to introduce your trip over there, for the next year, and maybe I will consider again repeating the trip maybe with some other people. I will be in contact, but just to thank you again!” Juan (Barcelona, Spain) - 2008 Pitcairn Expedition ********************************************************** “The journey to Pitcairn went very well and was quite an experience! I certainly learned a lot. Thank you for arranging it. The weather in Pitcairn wasn't the greatest but I still managed to see a lot. Please also send my thanks to Captain Kurt and to Jack and Andrew for all they did for us" "Also my thanks to our great Pitcairn hosts, especially Brenda" "For me, the longboat ride was a highlight and I've sent a few more of our arrival. The arrival has a fearsome reputation but was not too bad for us, thanks to the skill of the Pitcairners in handling the boat and us and our bags, and the fact that the sea was not too rough. I guess some times they cannot land” “Since I came back I've found that some of the younger people here do not know the story of Pitcairn and the Bounty Mutiny, or they think it is entirely fictional. I can set them straight on that! All the best to you for the future" " Pitcairn will rate as one of my best trips” Valerie (Canada) - 2009 Pitcairn Expedition |
