We offer three different expeditions from Mangareva (Gambier Islands, French Polynesia) to Pitcairn and Henderson Island in 2006. These expeditions have different itineraries and focuses:

Bird watching – with Kiwi Wildlife Tours from 6 June – 20 June 2006

Exploring the Islands – from 20 June – 4 July 2006

The Underwater World – a diving expedition from 25 July – 8 August 2006

The bird watching expedition is organized by Chris Gaskin of Kiwi Wildlife Tours. For the list of islands to be visited, birds to be seen, and to make a booking, please go to the website of Kiwi Wildlife Tours.

The “Exploring the Islands” expedition visits both Pitcairn and Henderson. Learn first hand about Pitcairn’s lifestyle and history by sharing the homes of the local people for a few days. A guided tour by Pitcairners around their spectacular little island is breathtaking and will make this the travel experience of a lifetime. Stepping ashore on famous Henderson Islands (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) makes arriving at the ends of the earth something you will never forget. More details on this voyage can be found under our section Pitcairn Explorer

The underwater world: If you are an enthusiast for Pitcairn history, plus always dreamed of living on uninhabited islands and ‘on-top-of-that’ a keen diver, you better book a berth on this magical mystery tour. You will find plenty of beauty to be discovered in the waters surrounding these islands. The vast majority of the islands are awaiting FIRST TIME EVER UNDERWATER EXPLORATION! Dave Moran (editor of Dive New Zealand/Dive Pacific magazines) will be onboard to capture this first ever diving tour of the Pitcairn Islands. More details of this voyage can found under our section Pitcairn Diving
